80 years ago. Friday, December 3, 1937: If an increase in the number of telephone subscribers is any indication of progress and prosperity, Neepawa and district are on the upgrade. The new directory has been distributed and there are 622 numbers listed as compared with 583 in the previous issue.

Neepawa Natives lose five straight

Heading into the MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg, the Neepawa Natives (14-17-2. 30 points) are on a five game losing streak, albeit against some stellar competition. Still, the Natives have found themselves winless in December and barely holding on to the final playoff spot in the standings.

On Saturday Nov. 25, 18-year-old Taylor Allen of Neepawa was awarded the Eugene Michelow Bursary award by Softball Manitoba. The prize is distributed to worthy athletes pursuing their post-secondary education. Allen is currently attending the University of Minnesota-Crookston and is a member of the U of M Crookston Golden Eagles softball team.
