On August 15, 1945, the initial announcement of Japan’s surrender was made. On September 2, 1945, a formal surrender ceremony was performed in Tokyo Bay, Japan, aboard the battleship USS Missouri. This event marked the official end of World War II.

A familiar voice for the Neepawa Natives and Neepawa Access Community Television (NACTV) has been silenced, as Gary Reidle passed away on Thursday, Aug 20, after battling cancer. He was 59 years old.

NADCO area patients given priority

On Sept. 8, Dr. Nichelle Desilets will begin taking patients at the Beautiful Plains Community Clinic. While she is taking new patients, those who live outside the area will have to wait a little longer to get their name on her patient list.

Rural council clips - Aug 26

RM of Oakview, Aug. 11, continued from last week: There has been some interest in purchasing old municipal signs; council will accept tenders for the same. Additional funds were received from Emergency Measures Organization regarding 2014 heavy rains.

Finances: Council accepted Doug Finlay’s offer (the only one received) of $1,200 for the 1976 Chev tanker formerly used by Rapid City Fire Department. Accounts of $131,391.82 and unpaid invoices of $33,006.27 were passed for payment.
