Community comes out to support fire victims

On March 25, the four families who lived above the Neepawa Home Hardware store lost everything when the building was destroyed by a fire.  In the weeks following the disaster, the community stepped up to help those displaced and on March 21, two fundraising socials were held.

Hylife Foods employees sign off on new deal

Employees at HyLife Foods in Neepawa have ratified a new five year deal. Members of the UFCW Local 832, the union representing the majority of the workers, voted on and passed the collective agreement on Monday, Mar. 23 by 73.5 per cent margin.

Distracted driving enforcement

Rivers Chief of Police

Rivers Police Service has partnered with Manitoba Public Insurance and other police agencies throughout the province to conduct an enforcement program targeting  distracted driving and other high risk driving behaviours. The enforcement program will run throughout April when  there will be a ZERO tolerance for using a cell phone or other hand-operated electronic device while driving a vehicle. Persons found guilty will be subject to a $203.80 fine, plus demerits on their licence.
